A Tale of the Right Tools

I am very proud to introduce to you the road that Kathy Christensen traveled to her current position at CBE Companies. In her 18-year journey at CBE, Kathy has proven that starting as an Associate and then moving into other roles within CBE provided her with the tools and resources to take off into her Director role, today leading the IRS team.

We interviewed Kathy and this is what she had to say:

Why do you stay at CBE?
I love that no two days are the same and every day I learn something new.  I have had excellent bosses who allowed me to challenge myself and recognized my accomplishments, but mostly the reason I stay is my coworkers.  I have had the opportunity to work in several of our locations, including six years in Kansas City. The amazing, caring, talented people that I have worked with over the years have made a huge impact on my life.

Why did you join CBE?
I had been a stay at home mom and my daughter was starting school and my brother-in-law, Kamal Mnayer, had been working in CBE’s IT department and really enjoyed the company.

What have you learned while working at CBE?
I have been blessed to work with some of the best leaders in the Industry.  What I have learned from that experience is that the best in the industry all have a very similar trait, they create and nurture other leaders.

Where do you see the company going over the next five years? What is your role in getting there?
This is a very exciting time for CBE, with being re-awarded large government contracts and growth with existing clients.  I will be focusing on the IRS project managing and auditing contract expectations ensuring that CBE is in the best position possible to be awarded future contracts.
