High Volume: There is no limit to the value we can create together

Today we continue our series of introducing you to our operations teams at CBE. These are the faces behind the great performance and service that our clients rely on day in and day out. We hope you enjoyed getting to know our Healthcare and Utilities team. If you missed it, be sure to check it out!

Next up is our High Volume Clients Division, which we call “HVC” internally. Today, our HVC team provides third party collection services to Telecom and Financial Services clients. We have dedicated client teams within this division, however all benefit from the knowledge sharing, strategy development and best practices from an overall shared services structure. This is one the most tenured teams at CBE with an average tenure of over eight years. This team also has a combined 113 years of collection experience!

Leading the pack is VP of Operations, Matt Wolk. Matt’s extensive client-side experience and surgical approach to collections is perfect for the competitive nature of his division’s clients, all of which are very large household brands. Here’s a little more about Matt:

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: Collections experience, focused on the team and competitive attitudes

What makes CBE different than competitors: The value we create, well beyond just liquidation

Why do you stay at CBE: I hate to lose more than I like winning, as well as my drive to keep this team and every client in a winning position consistently every month.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: GOLF!!!

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: I absolutely love the people that I work with.  I enjoy the challenge that can come with every day and working with my team to solve it.  I really enjoy mentoring team members that want to grow more with CBE.  Seeing someone go from collector to supervisor, and watching them grow throughout the process is truly a great gift for me.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: There is no limit to what we are capable of when we work together.

What makes CBE different than competitors: We invest in our teams the moment they walk in the door. It is not just about the job but how they can grow to be better parents, husbands/ wives, members of society, etc.  This job has really spoken volumes in so many aspects of my life. I am very grateful.

Why do you stay at CBE: I learn something new every day. The opportunity to make someone’s day better or to help them reach new heights is why the good days far outnumber the bad.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: I love DIY projects!  I also spend a lot of time on my farm with my chickens and goats.

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: I love the strategy that goes behind each phone call and helping each consumer discover that there IS a way to get this put behind you.  

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: Watch CBE change things. Since I have been employed with CBE they have done everything in their power to be ahead of the game and tailor the talk offs to help instead of convert. Watch as CBE leads all agencies in the right way to handle collections.

What makes CBE different than competitors: CBE cares about people: consumers, employees and clients. CBE will do anything in its power to be the agency that does things right. If every agency believes in one way and it doesn’t “smell right,” CBE will not adopt the idea. CBE is not afraid to stand alone, as long as it is the right thing to do.

Why do you stay at CBE: I not only want to stay at CBE, I actually moved to continue to be a part of CBE. I lived in Kansas City and worked for CBE. We unfortunately had to close that branch, but I was able to move to another location to stay with CBE. I want to be a part of something that matters and I want to be a part of something that is going to change an industry. I do not want to look back on my life/ career and wonder what if. I stay at CBE because CBE betters me, and I truly believe that I better CBE.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: I enjoy my three lovely dogs, disc golfing and exploring. Living in a new city and a new state has given me the opportunity to be able to see different trails, lakes and rivers (I think my dogs may love it more than I do 🙂).

 What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team:  We are one big family all pulling together for the same cause.  I know that I can count on my peers to help whenever I need it.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be:  We will treat your customers right and encourage them to continue service after collections.

What makes CBE different than competitors: We treat people with dignity and respect.  We work for a solution – not just to get the money.

Why do you stay at CBE:  The people I work with.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work:  Traveling

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: They are all excellent human beings – just great personalities and truly good hearted, genuine people.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be:  The people working here genuinely care about the work they do, and they take as much pride in protecting the business name and integrity of the clients that they represent, as if they worked for them directly.   

What makes CBE different than competitors:  We say what we mean, and mean what we say. 

Why do you stay at CBE:  The people I work with and the competitive salary that CBE offers.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work:  Being outside, grilling on summer days with friends and family

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: That feeling like you’ve helped someone – knowing you’ve made a difference.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: We truly care about the consumer. We try to understand where we they are coming from and that things do happen, however, our goal is to set them up for success not failure.

What makes CBE different than competitors: We’re here to help you, our goal is to get you out of our office by working with the consumer to find a solution that fits within their budget to help get them out of collections.

Why do you stay at CBE:  I chose to stay within the organization because my work always remains interesting and challenging. I am fortunate enough to have gained very useful experience and knowledge in every department I’ve been in.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: I enjoy the outdoors

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: The Supervisor team does a great job of working together and bouncing ideas off of each other when needed.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: Every associate at CBE cares about our clients hitting their goals as much as they care about hitting CBE goals.

What makes CBE different than competitors: The associates take the time to listen to consumers in order to seek first to understand the situation and then come up with win-win results.

Why do you stay at CBE: CBE is my home away from home. There is a family-like atmosphere here that helps me enjoy coming to work.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: Going on walks with my two daughters.

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: This is a group of individuals with very different strengths and personalities who have built a strong and trusting relationship in order to push for top results. Everyone puts forth different ideas and perspectives which allows us to come up with the best possible solution or plan.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: We never become complacent and are never satisfied with the results we are getting.  From top to bottom, we are always trying to find a way to get a little bit better.

What makes CBE different than competitors: With every decision that is made at every level we are keeping all three perspectives in mind: our client, their customers and CBE.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: Boating/Fishing

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: The mutual respect we all have for each other and our roles within the team.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: CBE is able to maintain integrity and a positive culture for our employees while also being a leader in high volume debt collections.

What makes CBE different from competitors:  Our employees perform with the highest level of integrity. We instill a culture of honesty and “doing the right thing” in all of our employees.

Why do you stay at CBE: CBE has provided me with a flexible work environment and has adapted to changes in my life.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: Reading

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team: They have a genuine interest in their employees and helping them to be the best they can be in the position they currently hold.

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be: We have long term tenured employees that are dedicated to working their hardest to collect money for our clients -we also strive to incorporate our values and ethics in each call we make or meeting we attend.

What makes CBE different than competitors: We seem to have an appeal by being located in the Midwest. Midwesterners are known for being hardworking, friendly and having strong values.

Why do you stay at CBE: I feel that I am appreciated for the work I do. I feel I have a management team that has my back whenever I need something and sees the potential in me.

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: Watching my children play sports

What is your favorite thing about the Telecom/Financial Services team:  Constant change

If you could tell a prospective high volume client one thing, what would it be:  With CBE’s Core Values showing Leadership, Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Continuous Improvement…we won’t let you down!

What makes CBE different than competitors: Not only do we drive performance to be number one, but we do it while upholding great customer service and practicing all of the State and Federal Collection Practices. 

Why do you stay at CBE:  The environment. I’ve had the pleasure of working with wonderful people and management teams. 

What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work: Spending time with my kids.
