Got Purpose? Part 2 of 3

As we mentioned in the first part of our series, people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. This is why we’ve been working on a new corporate vision and purpose to better reflect the organization we’ve become, the organization we strive to be in the future, as well as give our employees a reason to want to jump out of bed every morning and want to come to work.

After a lengthy process that included interviews, brainstorming, focus groups, discussions and voting, CBE’s Vision and Purpose were created.

CBE’s Vision is to be the most respected, innovative, reliable and profitable outsourcing partner.

We want to be the outsourcing partner that moves the needle for our clients and ourselves. And we will do so in an ethical manner. That’s who CBE has always been (and always will be), but our vision takes who we have been and helps shape us into who we will become. CBE’s Purpose is making lives better one call at a time, by connecting people to solutions.

Every CBE employee has an impact on the calls our teams make every day. Whether they are on the front line talking directly to consumers, managing associates or supporting the process, everyone comes together to make lives better on every call by understanding each individual situation. We cannot operate without innovative and compliant technology, without finding the right people, or without developing our staff to be the best they can be. If you think of all the calls that come in and out of our company on a daily basis, the number of lives we can make better is staggering.

We also make “calls” (decisions) all day long. Some are easy and some are much more difficult.  By making the right call, not necessarily the easy call, we live up to the standards and goals we have set for ourselves. Making a true difference in someone’s life with a solution they need is a reason to get out of bed in the morning and run to work…do you agree?

Sometimes “life” happens. It would be really easy to commit living out what we should/ought/must or what we have committed to do every day, and yet often we don’t feel like it.  Or something emotional happens, people get fired, they quit, marriages are upside down, illness and disease happen, betrayal happens…  The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People tell us that we must choose to live out mission over mood every single day.  That’s where grit comes in.

In the last part of our series, we will discuss how we bring our Vision and Purpose together. Stay tuned!
